Redcliff, Colorado / 05 July 2004

Safespan's Multi Span Bridge Platform was selected for the Redcliff Arch project on US 24 on the top of the Rockies historic byway. The contract consists of the removal and replacement of the concrete deck and abutments as well as sand blasting and a three coat paint system of all steel on the bridge. The project is scheduled to be completed in 8 months despite the tough weather conditions.




Sheffield, England / 06 March 2003

Safespan Europe and its installation partner CAN Ltd. installed a Safespan® Multi-Span Bridge Platform System® in just 90 days on Sheffield's 2 km-long Tinsley Viaduct. The system includes platforms under the viaduct's 20 m (65 ft ) high upper Highway M1 roadways and the 10m (33 ft) lower Highway A631 eastern roadway. CAN has also fitted the cabling system under the lower western roadway. They will switch the platform modules from the eastern side after work there is completed. By the end of the project, Safespan expects to have some 750,000 ft2 (70,000m2) of platform installed-- its largest project to date.

Tonawanda, New York-based Safespan Platform Systems, Inc., has expanded its North American marketing operations by appointing Skyway Canada, Ltd. as the exclusive source for its labor-saving Safespan® Multi-Span Bridge Platform System® throughout Canada. Skyway is a full-service equipment distribution company whose products include a broad range of scaffolding, heavy duty shoring, swing stages and safety fencing. In addition to its two Metro Toronto locations, it operates distribution centers in Sarnia, Ontario; Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta; and Kelowna, BC.

Skyway completed its first installation of a Safespan cable-suspended platform and shielding system on the Nelson River Bridge in British Columbiain 2001. The company has several major bridge and building projects for Safespan platforms pending in Ontario.

Safespan and Skyway are currently working together on their respective sides of the international Rainbow Bridge over the Niagara River gorge. The companies have jointly installed 19,602 m2 (211,000 ft2 ) of Safespan platform to conform with the steel arch and other bridge components to provide continuous, safe access for the Clara Industrial Services Ltd. crews metalizing and painting the famous structure. The project will be completed in the summer of 2003
